Saturday, June 28, marked a historic milestone on the Harbor Bridge Replacement project in Corpus Christi, Texas. Together with our partners at the Texas Department of Transportation, state and regional elected officials, leadership and project managers, we celebrated the official ribbon-cutting of the new Harbor Bridge. This marks a transformative chapter for the region.
Following the ceremony, a caravan of dignitaries were the first to cross this iconic cable-stayed bridge. As soon as they crossed, FlatironDragados crews seamlessly mobilized to begin the traffic switch to the new Harbor Bridge southbound lanes.
By early afternoon, the first public travelers rolled across the bridge beneath a giant Texas flag, greeted by waves and a symphony of honking horns
The new northbound main lanes are expected to open soon after the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
