Key step achieved towards building a larger and more efficient interchange
IH-35E Interchange Reconstruction Project Partial Demo Complete
This is what excellent planning looks like.
Our IH-35E Interchange Reconstruction team completed the partial demolition of an overpass that is being expanded to accommodate more traffic. The new structure will be a 270-foot-wide, single-point urban interchange bridge that will move traffic through this growing area more efficiently.
- A single stoplight will control all travel on the arterial street and vehicles turning left on or off the interchange.
- Approximately one-third of the structure was safely removed, giving our team room to build the first half of the expansion.
- We will focus on completing the first new section while traffic is redirected onto the remaining portion of the bridge.
- Once the new section is complete, it will open to traffic and the remainder of the old structure will be demolished to make room for the rest of the new bridge.
- This phased approach ensures minimal disruption to area motorists.
We look forward to completing the project for the North Texas community in 2027.
