Twenty professionals from FlatironDragados, Dragados SA and trusted consultants recently came together in Broomfield, Colorado, for a hands-on, 2.5-day Level 3 Crane Training.
This advanced program, held just once every few years, is essential for anyone who reviews and approves our most critical crane lifts. Led by our own Construction Engineering Group and industry experts Lawrence Shapiro and David Decker, the training focused on real-life challenges, from lifting heavy loads safely and handling high winds, to coordinating multiple cranes and making sure everyone communicates clearly.
Participants used a virtual reality crane simulator to experience the real-world demands including gusts of wind, load swing and blind lifts. This immersive experience gave our crane planners a complete perspective to ensure that we fully support our projects with safe and executable critical lifts.
Construction Engineer Adrian Nocos shared, "It’s great to see FlatironDragados invest time, resources and expertise into developing a comprehensive crane training program. This program strengthens our safety culture and reinforces our commitment to excellence in crane lift planning. I walk away from this training with more skills and a better understanding of a lift planner’s responsibilities.”
Construction Engineer Marissa Paiz added, “The program signals an organizational commitment to developing talent and fostering a culture of accountability. When we invest in people, we drive safer operations, greater efficiency and long-term organizational resilience.”
By investing in our people and prioritizing safety, FlatironDragados –— and the ACS Group --— builds stronger teams and safer job sites.
