FlatironDragados helped support the University of Washington's civil engineering majors on their journey to the 2026 AISC Student Steel Bridge Competition, where the team earned second place in the nation in the video category after qualifying through the regional competition in Alaska.
The competition challenges students to apply engineering, project management and teamwork skills in a real-world setting while designing and constructing a scale steel bridge.
This summer, one of those students, Preston Lazaro, is bringing that experience to FlatironDragados as an intern. His involvement reflects the company's commitment to supporting the next generation of engineers and creating opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience both inside and outside the classroom.
