FlatironDragados is leading the U.S. 50 Multimodal Corridor Enhancement and Rehabilitation project, a $460 million Design Build initiative in Sacramento. The project targets one of the region’s busiest corridors with key upgrades to aging infrastructure and new High Occupancy Vehicle lanes.
The project will:
- Add 51 lane miles of longer-life pavement and 14 lane miles of HOV lanes along a seven-mile stretch
- Widen 11 bridges and lower seven overpasses to improve vertical clearance and support freight movement
- Upgrade drainage by rehabilitating three pumping plants that remove groundwater from the highway
- Widen ramps, build new retaining and sound walls and install intelligent transportation systems for real-time traffic updates
- Improve lighting, signage and multimodal safety features along the corridor
The U.S. 50 project will increase safety, reduce traffic congestion and extend the life of vital infrastructure in the San Francisco Bay area. Completion is scheduled for summer 2025.
