2027Project Overview
FlatironDragados, in a joint venture with Hawaiian Dredging and Orion Government Services, is leading the construction of the P-209 Dry Dock 3 replacement at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The project is part of the U.S. Navy's Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program, which is modernizing government-owned and operated public shipyards.
Built in 1942 under wartime conditions and the smallest of four dry docks at Pearl Harbor, the existing Dry Dock 3 lacks the size and floor strength to accommodate Virginia-class submarines and larger surface ships.
The scope of work includes demolishing the existing structure to facilitate the construction of a new Dry Dock 5 graving dock and new ancillary structures and infrastructure. The interior will be 657 feet long, 100 feet wide and 55 feet deep when complete.
