2028Project Overview
With its strategic location on Texas’s Gulf Coast, Port Arthur is a vital energy hub. The city is home to numerous refineries and a world-class port on the Sabine Naches Waterway that reaches global markets.
FlatironDragados is providing a host of resiliency upgrades near the waterway. The project features:
- 5.5 miles of new earthen levee
- 5.5 miles of new floodwall
- 26 new closure structures
- Stronger concrete and sheet pile
The improvements will better protect pump stations and other key infrastructure against increasingly powerful storm systems and rising sea levels.
