The Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit is a key component of Toronto’s “The Big Move” regional transportation plan to improve connectivity and travel times across the city. As part of the Crosslinx Transit Solutions consortium, FlatironDragados is delivering complex infrastructure within a dense urban environment while minimizing noise, coordinating with the public and managing traffic flow.
The project includes:
- 19 km light rail line
- 25 stations and stops that link to 54 bus routes, three TTC subway stations and GO lines
- 10 km of underground track
- Up to 60% faster than current travel times
- Four bridges spanning two watercourses and two roadways
- Extensive utility mitigation and protection, including water mains, sanitary and storm sewers, gas lines and fiber optic cable
Once completed, the Crosstown LRT will reduce travel time up to 60%, providing commuters a faster, more efficient transit option. The project has earned recognition for its innovative financing approach and is a critical step toward modernizing Toronto’s transit network.
