2027Project Overview
The Orinda Water Treatment Plant Disinfection Improvements project will upgrade one of East Bay’s most crucial drinking water facilities. Initially built in 1935, the plant delivers clean water to more than 800,000 customers daily in Orinda and surrounding areas.
FlatironDragados is leading construction efforts to modernize infrastructure and enhance water quality while ensuring long-term reliability. The project will introduce ultraviolet disinfection and a chlorine contact basin to improve treatment processes and reduce the formation of disinfection byproducts.
Work includes:
- 2-story maintenance and UV electrical building
- Below-grade UV structure
- Integrated chlorine contact basin
Additional improvements include new electrical buildings, pipelines, a standby generator and security enhancements.
