The Upper San Leandro Water Treatment Plant, initially built in 1926, serves thousands of Oakland and East Bay residents daily. FlatironDragados is upgrading existing infrastructure and constructing new facilities to improve efficiency, enhance treatment processes and meet stricter water quality standards — all while keeping the plant fully operational.
Key features:
- New ozone treatment system to improve water quality and taste
- Raw water control valve and flocculation and sedimentation basin upgrades
- Replacement of the existing below-grade chlorine contact basin
- Rehabilitation, replacement and expansion of tanks, pumps and pipelines
These upgrades will strengthen the plant's reliability and ensure it provides safe drinking water for generations.
